Missouri American Water MR340 « RiverMiles
This race is going on right now.(started Tue I guess..) Any of you ever do this? When I first found out about it - I thought for sure I'd want to, but there's no way. It's an endurance race and I don't think I'm that interested, but impressed that people can do this. 340 miles in 88 hours (anything over and you're DQ'd) from KC MO - to St. Charles, MO.
They time it each year to coincide with a full moon, so they can continue at night more safely. Don't think I want to be on the Missouri river at night in a kayak.
I might volunteer some time to be one of the power boat 'support' teams or something just to watch the race and help out though.
Pretty cool - but not for me thanks!
It's a tough race for sure. The math says you need to average 3.86 miles per hour. I talked to a guy 2 years ago the runs in the race and he said the you need to average about 6 miles per hours just to keep from being DQ'd
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
