    Default Kayak trailer ?

Hey everyone, I'm in the market for a kayak trailer. I've tried for the pass three months to find a used trailer and there are none in my area. I've looked at the harbor freight ones but they have 8" wheels and I plan on doing a lot of interstate driving. I've found some online but most are cheap Chinese or way over priced.
    Do y'all have any recommendations?

Oh, and I have a JK Big Rig ( i.e. a wide boat). I would like to get a tandem in case my son wants a yak too. And I want something that I can back into the water and float the yak onto. ( i.e. I don't want to be picking the yak up, it's heavy).

I would wear Craigs list out looking for a twin jet ski trailer. Serch the area around you out to the farthest distance you would be willing to travel and check any boat dealers in your area for a used one. Buddy of mine found a nice single a couple of years ago that was traded for a tandem, got it for 100.00

Tennessee Trailer (brand) has a really nice kayak trailer that they just introduced. It is not on their website yet, but their are pictures on Facebook page. Get a hold of Billy Bouymaster, besides building them, he is also a kayak paddler: Mobile

I found a Hustler brand small jon boat trailer on CL, I had been looking for 6 months or more and had to jump on that one. Lots of yakers use the HF trailers, you can swap the wheels out for larger/taller ones that are better for interstate rolling. Make sure you pull the bearings and re-pack 'em as several comments indicate they come light or low on grease straight from the box. Put a flat floor on it with a couple cross bars/uprights and you've got a double decker. The HF trailer should work fine as the trailer is not really holding any payload per say, just make sure the bearings are maintained.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

I've emailed Tennessee Trailer and the Academy trailer is only at select stores (none near me) and still considering the HF upgrade.
Still in the market and open to ideas.

Oh, and I do not have the facilities or tools to build my own.

I purchased a utility trailer on CL last summer. Hauls 3 or 4 yaks and equipment, plus is mighty handy for other things non fishing related.

In my post "My Throw Around Boat" is a trailer my wife found while cruising through Facebook, which I'm not on. $50 and it's a single jetski trailer that needed the wheels and bunks and lights replaced but the main section and springs were just fine. The tongue could be a bit longer but it supports the center of my 15' canoe just fine. The fold up dolly I found at a yard sale worked exceptionally last weekend on it's first use. Needs the tubes replaced($11.00 on ebay) but for two bucks I'm in. Looking for a double ended paddle to try before I spend the $ for a new one. Being it's a canoe I think I'm going to need one longer than some used for kayak's. Patience and keeping working funds in arms reach is key to finding a used trailer as they go in a blink.
