Nucanoe makes a Frontier 10 and a 12, same basic hull, size is main difference.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

i had the pursuit and sold it to go back to a frontier..the frontier is a beast and i have no worries about turning it over..but alot of new options out there for less money the new heritage osprey at academy looks nice for 749. its 36 inches wide with a 450lb capacity

Well I don't think I will be standing too much, but thought my son might use it some bowfishing.

Lots of sound advice. My Wilderness System Ride 135 is still making me happy.

I'm not as tall as you, but about the same weight. I have a Jackson Coosa and am looking to upgrade to something a little more stable that tracks better. The Coosa is made to turn on a dime for river fishing, so it requires a lot of work to keep it in a straight line and the wind blows it around pretty bad. I really don't think it's big enough for my weight. I'm considering a Jackson Kilroy, or maybe Tripper 12 (same boat as the Kilroy without the fishing add ons for $450 less) and rig it myself.

I've been out the last three days in my Coosa, on small lakes around here. Day one the wind wasn't too bad, but annoying and I had to work a lot at boat control, couldn't find a hungry fish. Day two almost no wind, and I caught a bunch of small bass and bream. Today was day 3, wind was gusty and just flat wore me out, I did catch a few fish, but it was a LOT of work. Not sure that any kayak would have been much fun today, but the Coosa sure made it a lot of work to catch a few fish.

I should mention that I'm 56, and had back surgery last summer. I feel like I'm still recovering my strength and endurance from that. The paddling is excersize for me, I also have a big boat. You probably wouldn't get as worn out paddling as I do.

I am 6' and 270 and I paddled a bunch of em before buying. I ended up buying the Ocean Kayak Trident 13. Thought for sure I was going to buy the Ride 135 but after paddling every single one I could it came down to the Malibu, Trident 13 and the Tarpon 140. Ended with the OK. Go paddle as many as you can and determine what you like best and consider every style of fishing and sightseeing you might encounter. The ride was a confy boat but did not paddle as easily as the Tarpon 140 or the other 2. Liked some features of the Trident best and paddles like a dream. Go test em and decide what fits you best.

jhef, Thanks I do have a facebook account and stumbled across NAKA last night. Would like all the info on a demo day I can get. Wife is also interested in a kayak and said she is going to definitely try one out before she buys. Wife used to canoe with me and our boys, but then I started buying power boats and she has never been out in one of the powerboats that I can remember and I have had a bunch over the years. Paddling is more her speed. Thanks I will have to find my facebook password.

Warhawk, I totally understand I have had few rounds with my back also. Hopefully the demo day will work out and I can try a few out.
