    Default Fathering Milestone Today!

I took my 8 year old son out on his first kayak fishing trip and he was able to catch his first(and second) fish from a kayak!

He was a little excited, and so was I!

It's neat to see the excitement on a kids face when they get their first fish. It's also pretty neat to see the parents faces as they share the joy with their kids first fish. I remember both of my kids first fish they caught... lots of sweet memories! Enjoy it because they sure do grow fast! :-)

    I appreciate the responses.

I actually didn't stop there this weekend. I introduced by brother-in-law and my niece to kayak fishing and I am relieved to tell you that I was able to get them both on some fish. It is very rewarding to see the excitement! In addition, I have firmed up some future fishing buddies.

Awesome. Nothing like getting the kids in the kayaks. All three of my sons were raised fishing from a kayak, and now, my grandchildren are learning. This summer, my 5 and 7 year old grandsons will get their first opportunity to control the kayak by themselves and their first shot at fishing from the kayak.
They have both been kayaking with me a few times, and they are both pretty good little fishermen, so now it's time to start branching out their outdoor knowledge and abilities. Good luck. Be safe. And happy fishing.
It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D
