I got a Perception Pescador 120 Pro last July and fished out of it about 6-8 times so far-mainly for bass, but I have a tackle box set up for crappie. I'll fish for crappie this spring out of it in some of the local lakes around town. I have it fully rigged up with a scupper cart for walk in lakes, depthfinder, rod leashes crate and pole holders for 6-7 poles, anchor/trolley system and tackle storage. I'll also bring along my aqua-view micro system, since that will be easy to use sitting right on the water. Haven't figured out a minnow storage system yet, but may just stick with jigs. I use a Harbor Freight trailer to transport it so I don't have to unload he yak to drop it in the lake and take it out.

I've got a Wilderness Systems Pungo 120 with 4 RAM rod holders, and a Lowrance 4X depthfinder. Crappie is the primary species I pursue from it.

We need to hookup and fish somewhere with our kayaks?

I could probably swing that. What's your preference- bass or crappie? Che Ru later on this spring for crappie? Neither of us fished for crappie there it sounds like, so we might be able to luck into a few if we hit it right.

It looks like Che-Ru has areas not accessible to larger boats so it is definitely on the list. I don't think we should rule out white bass if we go there on a windy day but I'm open to suggestions on species, I usually start out trying to catch small large mouths on half plastic worms behind a jig, for some reason I like catching the little guys if they are hitting on every cast. Crappie are of course the main table fare at my house so I always give them a shot.

I'm going to call the people at Loess Bluffs National Wildlife Refuge (Squaw Creek) to see if they allow kayaks but my guess is no. I would really like to find a lake that doesn't allow motors at all and I'm searching google earth for strip pits we may be able to get permission to fish on.

Mid to late March is the earliest I would want to put my new kayak in the water, especially since I have never used it before. I'm open to any suggestion you have on location because I have never fished the Northern Missouri lakes. If it wasn't such a long drive I would suggest maybe one of the rivers on the North side of Truman or Lake of the ozarks. I used to go to bear creek on Truman a lot but it got busy about 15 years ago when people started building homes down there.

This is one of the properties my fishing club rented but I have not been a member in 10 years.
2400 Acres Bates County, Missouri - Midwest Land Group It is now for sale for only 7.8 million, too bad I don't have that kind of money :-). It would be a pretty long drive for you anyway.

I checked the fishing lakes that the State of Kansas has but none of them close to St. Joe appealed to me. I'm still dreaming about the perfect spot :-).

Kayak fisherman here. As a matter of fact, tooling around in my kayak is what got me thinking about fishing as an adult in the first place.
