Breathable waders (cabelas or bass pro) and a good pfd and you should be fine. I have a drysuit, but it is way overkill for fishing a marina.
How did you place your registration numbers on your Jackson?
I love dock walking in the winter. The problem is the marinas near me don't allow it. I would love to drop my yak in the marina and fish the docks this winter.
I have a motorized Jackson Big Rig with all the bells and whistles. I'm in central Illinois so it gets cold, but not Alaska cold.
What type of suit do I need? Be specific. Links would be nice.
There are no kayak stores near me so I can't try gear on. I would have to order online.
Should I even try it? Or just give up fishing in the winter? I really don't want to die.
Its frustrating because I know there are some huge crappie in those marinas.

I have the breathable waders and also a Dry Top. I'm in Mississippi and if the temps are 50 or below, I'll wear the Dry Top. Steep and Cheap usually has some good deals on Dry Tops
im looking for a pair of paddle pants. for this winter. and wouldnt you know it our winter not here yet. we have gone back up into mid 70s to all most 80
I went with the Kokatat dry pants and dry top with NRS boots. So far their great. I have to worry more about getting hot than I do getting cold. They would make an awesome rain suit too.
thank you for all your replies and I hope it will be helpful to other too.
