Yes sir, run the line thru a handle or some ring or loop on each end of the boat. You will be able to lower or raise your anchor from beside you then position the anchor where you need it. The pointy end to the current makes it lots easier to hold the kayak in place.

20 foot of anchor rope would limit where I fish. With a light current I'd be sitting in 14 to 16 foot of water.
I've got a spool of Power Pro 300 lb line, I'll put 100 feet on a Penn reel to use.
I'll be fishing brush tops at 20 to 25 foot deep in 30 to 40 foot of water.

    2 6inch eye bolts
1 5lb bag of quick cement
2 coffee cans (plastic works best)

Mix cement and pour evenly into coffee cans. Insert 1 eyebolt into each coffee can down to the eye. Let each dry for recommended time (overnight). Next day check to ensure dry and cut can away from cement. You should have to perfectly smooth anchors where you can tie your
    anchor line to eyebolts.

I've been using the same two with my 8.5 foot water scamp type plastic boat for 2 years and they are still going strong.

Canebreaker, the 20 ft line only makes the anchor trolley. Put the anchor on as much line as you need, whatever it takes for your water. The anchor trolley lets you put your anchor line where you want it on your boat from the seat without having to reach either end. I can't figure out how to make a drawing on here but if you PM me I'll send you some pix of how mine is set up.
