Looks very stable from where I'm sitting. Let us know what you think after your first trip out. Looks comfy to me.

Going from a SOT to a hybrid was a tough sell. But I have no regrets. I love my Commander.

Azle! I lived in Azle, near the City Park with the boat ramp, from 2005 - 2013. Moved to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Nine semi private lakes here, shame they've never been managed for fishing.

Anyway ... I was in Academy recently and they had a couple of Kayaks that caught my eye, after looking at the specs and reviews I really like the Pelican Catch 120. Anyone own or been around one of these?

No personal experience with the Pelican brand kayaks. Fished from the city parks area quiet a bit until I found other parts of the lake had better crappie structure to fish.
Experience has been with Ocean Kayaks, Wilderness Systems and Maxi Poke Boat Kayaks and then back to Wilderness Systems 135. Stability, stability, and more stability
is my motto at my age for relaxing kayak fishing.

The kayak I had was a sit in from Dicks Sporting Goods. Wasn't made for fishing, but I took care of that. My favorite place to kayak fish was in the upper end of Lake Fork, I'd put in at the nature center and had a ball fishing in there.

i had a couple of boats while I lived there too. Used to catch a lot of sand bass trolling hell-pet lures, and jigging with slab spoons. I don't remember catching a single crappie in Eagle Mountain.

West Bay Marina is the best location for catchin' quality slabs, but you have to purchase an ID tag to fish there. Worth every penny.

Here's my pescador. The pvc mast is very sturdy thanks to some epoxy and some angle bolted through to the reducing bushing at the base. This is removable for non fishing floats as well.

I went for a kayak that is stable enough to stand up in at times , but a length that is easy to load in the back of my truck . Also easy to modify with the Uni track for accessories , as well as the sonar pod that makes attaching the sonar easy . I love the Feelfree Lure 11.5 !
