Default looking for a small boat, please help.

I am looking for a good small boat for 3 people, river fishing (the river isn't very big, but it isn't small.) So maybe like a jon boat or a bass hunter. I would like to put a small 12volt trolling motor on it and try to keep the price around $750. So any advice would help. Thanks

Go to academy sports and get you a 12 jon boat. Around 500 and they have a trolling motor 30 pt for 99 and you can get a battery for under 100. There is your rig for 700.

Stump hunter beat me to it. LOL I got half of it typed out and then looked at what else was said. You can also check on craigs list. I have a 12 foot jon boat and really like it. I have never had it out on a huge body of water but with the 3.5 hp motor on it, it will go anywhere I want to take it. We use a 45 ibs trolling motor to fish a small city lake here in the Tulsa area. I have never had a problem. Be ready to spend some more funds on a ton of little things and always have a couple of extra plugs. Hope this helps, Bobo

I have a question? the jon boat has a 525 weight limit, with the three of use it would weigh a little under 700. would the boat stay a float? That weight does not include the battery.

Personally I have never had more than two people at a time in my 12 footer. I think 3 people in my boat would be a little crowded.

Do you think it would still be crowded with a 13 year old? The ones that would be fishing is me, my dad, and my uncle.

it would be an accident waiting to happen. do not overload a boat. if you have to go borrow enough to step up to a bigger safer boat do it. is yours or your sons and uncles life worth it?
