As we were reminded this weekend, in heavy wind, a boat's foot controlled trolling motor lets one stay on target much better. Still a good time overall.

I have a 15 yr old Skookum Steelheader white water cataraft and get as much use out of it as my boat. Can't beat it. Took it out west with camping gear and traveled a 100 miles on the Big Horn (Wind River) camping and fishing. Great to get back into small lakes without a ramp. Takes rough water and is comfy to fish out of. When anchored does not keep moving around.

And, YOU............Broke "THE" code all kayakers take when they get 'em wet.
Now, there will be a run on kayaks and less chicks for us. I don't know how I'm gonna explain
this to my friends that thought my magic was somethin' special. Is there anything you can
do to redact your statement? I never thought I'd see the day someone would let the cat outa the bag.
My balloon is busted and I don't know what to do next................man-o-man what a day. Will the sun come up in the morning?
Just kidding. Nobody will believe you. Chicks don't really dig kayakers. Do they?

Reminds me of one weekend last summer. The wife and I work together... in the same office and of course we live together... in the same house. So, we see each other a lot. I'd been fishing up a storm for four or five weekends straight, gone every Saturday and Sunday was the norm. This one Saturday I had no fishing partner, woke up late due to late night and excessive libations... decided to stick around the house. We have coffee, I offer to cook breakfast, she declines. I cook my breakfast, sit beside her, asK what she wants to do today. She takes my hand, turns to me and says, "Are you sure you're not going fishing today?"... I laugh and ask why. "I enjoy my quiet slow Saturday/Sunday mornings... DON'T MESS THAT UP!!"

Never had a yak, how are they for comfort. Due to low back problems I have a difficult time sitting for for long periods. If I let my wife read this thread she might get me one. Its worth a try...

If you have back problems, like I do. Take your time and find one that's right for you. Don't rush into the first Yak you see.
Find a retailer that will let you test out a few models first.

I like the seats to have a nice tall back and soft cushions. I have a few Perception kayaks and the seats are solid with some padding.
One of which I bought a better back rest. It helps quite a bit. The original seat back rests are too short. You will only be able to stand the pain for afew hours.

The newest kayak to the fleet is an Ascend FS10 from Bass Pro. The seat is Super comfortable, high back - gel seat - with lumbar support.
It also sits up off the floor of the boat quite abit, which help too.
And it comes out of the kayak so you can use it on shore. I can sit in this thing all day with no problems.
The lady I bought it from didn't even want to give the seat up she liked it so much. I had to tell her, No Seat - No Deal.

So please take your time and do you homework before you buy. I hope this helps
Wishing you Blue Skies and Tight Lines

Try before you buy. I have back problems too, so it can be done.
If vegetable oil is made from vegetables, what's baby oil made from?
