Hey Alfred, welcome to CDC!
I looked....until I saw the price too rich for my blood.
Thinking outside the box-- I am 74 and have a Mag 1 with TM. Very stable. Google up "BOBCAT Boats" No fear of capsizing. It is a little slow. I run it up on the bank and walk off the end. Good luck on your quest.
Alfred
call me crazy ... but check the puddle ducks out ...
can be built for under 200 dollars .. they row good .. and extreme stable...
PDracer.com
also the puddle duck is rated at load capacity of something like 800 #
I'm looking at the same thing right now. Jackson is definately worth a long hard look. Cuda and Coosa are good looking models and I'm tossing around the idea of the Big Tuna to haul the wife and kid along.
Ok guys, My $.02, I owned a Native Ultimate Volt. I'm 6'5" have extremely long legs and have worked all my life now 65, so I'm not in the best shape also. The seat in the Native ultimate is the most comfortable I have seen in any kayak including the Jacksons Coosa or Cuda. The native Ultimate is hghly stable even with my seat mod. I raised the seat up to the top of the gunnel, supported it with foam blocks that came with the boat for additional floatation for the battery box, made it very easy to enter and exit the boat. The 46# TM in the Volt is situated right between my knees and just slightly ahead of the seat, mounted to the front thwart. I mounted the transducer on the trolling motor with a hose clamp. I usually carried my boaat in the back of my F150 with a bed extender from Harbor Freight. I rigged a rope and pully system for loading the kayak into the truck, worked pretty good. This boat was listed around $2k but I got a break from the dealer and only paid $1500 for it.
That's the boat I have only in camo, can attest to it's stability and comfort, i'min the process of installing a humminbird 385 thu the hull but no hurry we still have ice. Good luck
Hi,
Just joined this illustrious group today! I am looking forward to tips and tricks to catching more delicious slab.
I would like to add that the above kayak recommendations are good but there is another you might want to look at. It's called the NuCanoe Frontier and meets all your requirements.
The seats slide on rails to whichever position you want, you can also add a bass seat riser that can allow you to spin the seat. You can also stand which I do most of my fishing. A trolling motor can also be added for added power. Tracks very well and is hard to roll over.
Again, all the kayaks/hybrids provide something unique so its finally up to your personal preference.
Good luck!
