Alphahawk, home made from patio chair......most comfy.
I have posted photos on this thread under kayak seats.
NeonMoon has placed his stamp of approval on it too.
He made one for his kayak. I liked the seat that came
with the Ride 135 for 2012, but it does not have armrests.

Dang...thats pretty cool. The only thing that concerns me about the Ride is the seat. My Coosa seat is super comfy. Talked with Chris at HOOK 1 and the new seats should start shipping 22 September. Is the kayak tippy at all with you that high......Im a big guy....290.

    Regards

No Sir, not tippy at all. The seat that came with the kayak is sit up off the floor, but a little different than the Jackson Kayak Cuda/Coosa.
I wanted armrests and got to thinking about what I could improvise to get what I wanted. This photo is the final product and it is just
like the first Ride I had, super comfy. You can make the legs as short as you want them if you think it's a little tippy. Center of gravity
does make a difference, but I've been standing in kayaks like this for years fly fishin', so maybe I'm kinda used to them.

Alphahawk, check the bottoms of the Cuda/Coosa versus the Ride 135. Stability is good on both. My size and likes dictated I would be happier
with the Ride 135 to do what I wanted to do. Being rated for 550 lbs, according to Wilderness Systems, it's an estimate on the minimum side.
I don't know what it would take to sink a Ride 135, but the same could be said of any of 'em. There is not an angler model, so.......you have to
do it your way. Lots of info available for DIY'ers.

Bet they are a little on the weak side due to exposure to the sun. Be good for experimenting though. I wouldn't guess what kind of life would
be left in 'em. 5 years is a while for plastic/poly chairs, especially outside chairs.

The Ride I test paddled was a 2012 or earlier model, and the 2013 that I have has a bigger/wider seat imo, but just as comfy. the 2013's have the new/re-designed seat with better airlfow.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Chasing Ghost, get yourself to Appomattox Kayak store in Farmville. They carry most all brands and models, but they also know the ends and outs about them. Plus they pretty much beat everyone else's prices (and if not they price match 95% of the time). There staff is so knowledgable it is good just to plug them for info. While you are there, you can actually sit and the boats and pretend to fish. Also practice getting in and out of the boat (some boats are difficult to get in and out of), which is why I like a tall seat.

All those acceceries you are talking about are really going to drive the price upward. Personally I can't stand most of the slide track systems out there (would rather mount it in the right spot and leave it there). Also if the track is in the wrong spot, it does you no good. Food for thought.
