Is it possible you are just seeing other types of fish like shad?

Doesn't look like you have near enough "goop". Clean it all off, go to the local Home Improvement Center and get a small tub of Plumbers Putty (a couple $) and re-set it. Look at the 1st page of my post on my Kayak (a few posts down) and see how mine is set. Be sure not to work bubbles into it, make a 1" "pancake and press the TD into it firmly, then work some putty over the sides of the TD while holding it firmly in place.

have read where "duct seal" available at HD, comes in a brick, something similar to silly putty works good as well. check out youtube for some tips on how to install TD's in yaks, or some other yak forums, such as texaskayakfishing.com, very informative site I look at for tips and ideas. TKF has a rigging forum as do alot of yak sites.

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

I just went through several attempts at mounting a transducer to the bottom of an outback. First I used a piece of 4" pipe with a clean out screw cap. I glued the pipe to the bottom using 3m marine adhesive and mounted the transducer to the top. before you screw the top down you fill the pipe with water. It worked great until flexing in the bottom broke the seal to the bottom. I tried putting a layer of 3m across the bottom of the pipe to increase the attachment patch. The pipe stayed put but bubbles and the thickness of the adhesive was making it difficult for the unit to maintain the bottom. I changed gears and went with goop direct to the hull. I made a little dam area a little larger then the puck transducer. I filled the area with about 1/4" of goop being careful to have a continuous flow and try not to lap over as it creates the bubbles that will ruin the install. Have the Yak level side to side as the transducer will want to move with the flow. I installed it the same spot as yours. I get good clarity of bottom and the thermalcline. I was working a small pond yesterday and marked good schools of fish and picked up about 5 small crappie so it was marking fish. If you look around the edge of your adhesive and see any bubbles I would redo it. Good luck
