Love it, RRR! Looks right at home! Can't wait to hear how well the scupper mount works out for you.

Thanks fellers for the comments. It was a labor of love of fishin'. And no bumpaw, I really had no preference for any ff, but had looked hard at both the
Hummingbird and Lowrance. The only reason I went with the Lowrance is because of the Lowrance Scupper Hole Transducer Mount. I was pleasantly
surprised when I looked at both units at Cabela's and found the Lowrance Scupper Hole Transducer Mount on the shelf. The price of the two units I looked
at were close in price, but the transducer mount pushed me towards the X-4 and since this is my first purchase of any kind of sonar unit, you could call
it a coin toss decision. The ease of installation was a factor and the fact that the transducer actually is in the water played a part as well. I realize my
choice is not what Wally Marshal would choose, but my expertise is considerably lower than his when it comes to catchin' crappies. I will tell you that my
X-4 cost $84.00 and the transducer cost $49.00, so my investment for my first sonar unit is not too outlandish. I believe it will serve my purpose well.

I'm working on my "list" of stuff that needs finished, added, and purchased, so yep, I'm working towards it, but won't be leaving until late October/early November. Pops winters in Florida, so I hang around here until about the same time he leaves. I have an Air Card for my laptop (+ wireless router & external antenna) so I'll still be checking-in regularly and hopefully posting some pics of some of them southern fish.
