Finally got around to posting this. My comfy ride. Stripped it and started over with all new
arrangement of rod holders, paddle holder, etc....still improvising. This lawn chair is super comfy.
Note how I sit up off the bottom of the kayak allowing room for legs to bend for better comfort.
Attaching forceps to front of armrest & rod holders to back of chair. Ice chest sits between feet
over scupper hole. Will show when complete and in the water.

    RR:
does the chair bottome just sit on the yak, or did you attach it?
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Looks comfy! Have you had it in the water yet? Wondering if the extra height changes anything (COG, paddling, etc.)

I cut the legs off the plastic lawn chair, smoothed them and split the pool noodle
so the cut off fit into the pool noodle and that is where I get the cushion to prevent
chair from rubbing against kayak. I used existing tie downs to hook bungie cord to
secure the chair and it rides on the trailer fine, but it removes easily. Since I stand
sometimes to flyfish from this kayak, stability is not affected for me. I did purchase
a longer paddle to compensate for the height of the chair. This chair does make it
easier for me to stand while on the water. The legs of the chair are easily cut with
a jig saw, so just about any configuration is possible.....sot or sink. At $13.00, I have
no reservations about what the seat cost, and it is considerably more comfortable
that my $129.00 kayak seat that is collecting dust. Oh, I purchased it at Lowe's
because the bottom of the chair was designed/constructed to better fit my kayak
seat configuration, and it was USA made. I looked at chairs at Wal-Marts and
Home Depot, but the bottom of the chairs were not compatable with my kayak seat.
I'm particular to a fault sometimes, but it's my bottom I'm concerned about and I'm
a happy fisherman when my bottom is happy.

This is the back of my chair and
it shows how the pool noodle is
fitted to the bottom and the
bungie cord that holds it to the
    kayak tie downs.

All I like now is to attach a net holder and some more pool noodle
on the chair to make it float, just in case. Load the ice chest and launch.
    Look out fish, I'm hungry.

I got a "self-inflating" stadium seat cushion last week for about $7 (SprawlMart) before deciding to make my own seat too. One might be a nice addition to yours, if you haven't already got/need something for a little extra padding.

available at our local Wally World. Thanks for sharin' that info.
