    Yep, I used plumbers putty and the normal smimmer type transducer that came with the unit and shoot through the hull. Have not had to mess with is since I mounted it.
    The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.

    i just set the transducer in the bottom of my kayak after i get it. I dip my hand in the water and put a few drops on the floor of the kayak, and set the transducer on that. it works. Its free. I do have to keep doing it about every 20 or so minutes.

    Try putting a dab of Vaseline under the puck, and taping it down with duct tape. It will last longer, its cheap, and still temporary.
    If vegetable oil is made from vegetables, what's baby oil made from?
