I think Bfish is just "poking the bear" - we can all understand his point of view but as far as Woodyard said - some folks don't really have the option of getting a "suitable" or "appropriate" rig - so you have to make due and modify where you can. I personally have chosen an "appropriate" rig - but can understand the other side of the fence as well.

The same idea is done on canoes too. If some are concerned about safety. Life jackets are mandatory on all boats under 16 ft, and all canoes and yaks, it is mandatory at all times. Some can't afford, what other people can, so they make do with options, so that they can fish too.
