I have an older KL Industries Sportsman II model that is similiar to the current BassHunter EX. I've been fishing out of it off and on for a full year now and love it. It allows me to get into places my Rhyan-Craft won't let me get to. The plastic boats of this kind are surprisingly very stable. I can stand and cast to shore for bass and panfish and not worry about falling or turning over. I load mine in the back of my F150 Supercrew truck by myself but often take my 12yo daughter. If you have the money to spare or find a used one I suggest purchasing it. I power it with a MinnKota Endura, 12v which gets me around for hours.

The Waterquest is a two piece top/bottom design similar to the BassHunter but has more wood in the floors. One nice thing is it has a small bilge area. I also had the Sportsman II, just like the Bass Hunter but a lil longer. Yep great boats, Used mine for years. Biggest difference between the basshunter (we always called them the Bantam style) or the Waterquest type is the Waterquest/Bass Hounds have sides and the Bantams don't. All in all the 11.3 is great boat and the Bass Hunters style is also. Worst problem with any of them, getting time to use them!

I have the basshunter ex. Bought it last spring and love it. It is really stable and my 7 year old son and I fish out of it with no problems. We use it for strip pits and small city lakes close to home. I'll try to post a picture of my set up if your intersted.

I ended up buying a trailer at Tractor Supply. Started just using the truck bed but it was a pain to load by myself.

A couple things to note that I think are worth the money. First, I bout a trolling motor bracket for the transom and used it to make a rudder with a paddle. It can be raised and lowered as needed...plus you have the paddle for emergencies and it doesn't take up space in the boat. A rudder on these small boats keeps the transom from swinging around and you track straight.

The other thing is the trolling motor. These boats are light, so I spent some extra money and bought a Minn Kota Traxxis which has the variable speed with maximizer technology. Some trolling motors, even if set to "1", have you moving too fast in these boats (when actually fishing)...so the variable speed option is nice to have.

Those are nice boats. I opted to go with a 14 ft aluminum boat & customized it to my liking. Very stable & comfortable to fish from & a little bigger than the plastic boats. Here is a link to my build. 1968 14ft Richline semi v ...update with pics 02/01/2010 - TinBoats.net

Great looking boat, looks like the trailer was built for it!

When you back up just drop the tail gate on your truck and it no problem. If your pulling with an SUV it will be a challenge.
