Thought I would post a few updated photos:
I have added an Anchor Trolly, a few Pad Eyes and Rod Leashes for the rear rod holders (Just in case a tree decides to snag my pole while I'm not looking)
I was not very happy with the Ascend rod holder. I wanted to use a Scotty Triple Rod Holder for the Fish Finder and 2 Rod Holders. So I also added 2 Scotty Rod Mounts to the front deck, one in front of the other. I moved the first mounting bracket forward so I could still have full use of the cup holders. The second one was mostly to fill in the hole from the factory, but I can use it for a single rod holder or just run my wires to the fish finder. I also drilled a large hole in the side where the seat snaps in place, to run a cable lock trough when the yak is on top of the Jeep in the J craddles. (You never know, better safe than sorry) And finally to top it off 2 Crappie.com directional decals (one on each side) and 1 on the front deck.
These pics where snapped on the Canandaigua Outlet last week. Only caught a few fish, but what a great day on the water.
Wishing you Blue Skies and Tight Lines
dang....lol
i was hoping to see a gheenoe or two....ha
Liked all of the pics. They certainly give a fellow food for thought. Plus the info given lets a fellow know what hasn't worked for others.
FISH ON
Noob here making my third post! Thought I'd share a few pics of my kayak, dubbed the "USS Failboat," that I just got not quite two weeks ago: Ocean Kayak Trident 13 Angler. Love it!
I just got done making some rod holders out of PVC and zip-tied them to my crate. I've only got 3 rods to take, but that's plenty for me. I've had it out three times now, though one of those was the maiden voyage at a small family pond.
I need to take some better pics of my setup. Maybe tomorrow before I head out!
Face obscured for OpSec.
Moments before first launch.
Shot some doves in that field a few hours later. Nom Nom Nom!!!
