    Default Lacygne Help

can anyone tell me where a ramp is on Lacygne, and is there good Crappie? Is this a lake where you can fish the hot water output, and fish are stacked in it?

    Thanks in advance.

when you get off of hwy 69 you go east a mile or so and turn back to the north and go a couple miles into the park and there is a ramp in there and a bait shop etc is open a few days a week. There is a hot water discharge and it gets stacked up with white bass, wipers and some largemouth, but it is a small area. Caught most of my crappie near the damn.

Thanks for the Info. Do the crappie have any size to them?

I have only fished there for crappie a couple times....I think 12" was the biggest we caught, but I am sure there are some bigger fish available and plenty of 10-11" fish.

La Cygne Lake has three boat ramps on the main lake. There is one near the cooling pool on the east side.side of the project. Two of these ramps are inside the Linn County Park and one ramp is maintained by KDWP. Usability is determined by the weather. There is a Park Ranger there you can call. I don't know his phone number, and he will give you all the details about the ramp conditions. Of Course there is a fee to fish... Just a two dollar bill will get you on the lake.

The Google map really sucks for a close in zoom there. The KDWP site uses Google maps and they only show their ramps. The Linn County ramp is really the best ramp. Try Yahoo Maps here. The map cross hairs are slightly north of the ramp.

Here is a free ramp on the river but I prefer the $2 ramp above.

Anyhow I hope the cross hairs line up for you on your computer. From the maps you should be able to pan around and find how to get in there. You no longer can exit off of 69 H onto 2400 Rd. You have to continue south to the next exit onto 152 and go East to Valley Rd and go north to the first exit east and on going east veer left at the Y. Watch out for deer as you take the road to the ramp.

    Good luck
