I drove Hills Yesterday and all the ramps are iced in and they are letting water out at over 500 cfps still. I would make a call down there first to see if the ramps open up. Some of that Ice is going to take a few days to melt off if there is no good wind. Let us know how you do. I may drive by again this afternoon.

Just as an FYI I just drove around Hills at 2:30 Sat and the lake is 100% iced over. Only a few open pockets on the entire lake are those the ducks are keeping open. I would head south if I where you...

    Duckman

Thanks for the updates. I was sure chomping at the bit to hook up and check Hillsdale out. Guess I'll have to wait until next week sometime.

    Angry

Me and Big Bear did go to Hillsdale today, and waisted some time. I can't believe that it's frozen over. We wound up driving down to Melvern and waisted more time. I might keep the cover on the boat fro a couple more weeks. DAMN ICE.

It looks like with the water they are letting out and the ice it will be at least 2 weeks before anything even thinks of bitting. The bad part is with all of the cold weather we have had rain/snow to go along with it. They are letting water out like crazy and with all of this run off the gates will be open for the next week at least. Until the lakes can stabilize for a few day with no ice on them I don't see the fishing being worth going out for a while. Warmer weather and no rain for a couple of weeks will help things out a bunch.
