    Talking Crappie World Magazine

I've received the Crappie World magazine for the past 4 years, and i did not know that you can read some of the articles on line. Their web site is www.ecrappie.com.

There is one article they posted about building man made brush piles. This is very interesting article. They talk about how putting out brush piles/steak beds actually can hurt a crappie lake.

I have not been out to a Kansas lake in the past 2 weeks. I went to lake Eufaula in Oklahoma last weekend. Came home with 97 keepers. We had 10 fish over 13", including one at 15-1/2. I plan on making another Oklahoma run in the next 2 weeks.

Thanks for the post in regards to the magazine. Has many useful articles that are well worth the reading. Nitronate....have you ever tried Lake Oologah? Have heard some about both these lakes and see that Oologah is quite a bit closer. What does it take for an "out of stater" to fish and boat in Oklahoma?

I've never fished Oolagah. The only Oklahoma lakes i've fished in Ft. Gibbson and Eufaula. Ft. Gibbson has some monster Black crappie in it, but they are hard to find now since the lake was 35' high last summer.

Well thats enough for me to shy away. I know its just a matter of time before they get into Melvern, John Redmond, and heaven forbid....Toronto and Fall River. Maybe it won't be happen till I am dead and gone but it doesn't good look good for the next generation of fisherman.

Oologah is a very very good crappie lake....I grew up about 20-30 minutes away and fished it growing up.....I have not been in about 10 years though and would love to get back down there....
