Some really nice catches. Good job.
My bass fishing buddy and I took Friday off and drug the boat to Milford in hopes of getting him on his first topwater wiper bite. I was needing to feel the “Thump” myself.
We got on the water at 2:30 Friday afternoon and it was 106 degrees air temp. Played around some brush piles and I caught a small 3lb wiper on my 10’ crappie pole, what a fight! Only fished about an hour then we went to town to eat. Got back on the water about 7 and fished until dark with only a few nice crappie caught. On the water Saturday morning at 5am and was anchored on the spot by 5:30 casting whopper ploppers at the wind blown point. I caught the first wiper and then Paul caught a couple and a few big white bass. Also scoped a few piles and caught a few nice crappie. With temperatures of 113 Saturday afternoon we didn’t go back out until 7pm Saturday night Paul bought some minnows and I showed him how to rig up a crappie drop shot rig. He proceeded to catch several crappie, I caught several on my jig too. Sunday morning there was a boat on our point at 5:30 am when we arrived so we went after crappie. Paul’s minnows died over night so he was throwing the whopper plopped while proceeded to have a ball catching and releasing several nice slabs before calling it a morning 9:30 and heading back to Colorado.
