I sometimes get lectured but I use ultralight equipment, ice rods, and 4.5' up to 9' crappie rods. 1/16 and smaller jigs - triple tip bodies swim better than other twister tails. 4 and 6 lb test hi vis line.
Everyone's favorite jigs or go tos

I dont understand the lectures especially when I'm winning slab tournaments all over the country - until my phone rings and I wake up!! LOL
Jig "bodies" or jig "heads" ??
Bodies, I like Panfish Assassins Tiny Shad (1.5") & Slab-a-nator Shad (2")
Heads, I like weedless unpainted ballhead w/#2 Aberdeen hook (custom made by Grousefly) with the fiber brush style guard & the Y-guard.
Slabanator bodies : http://www.crappie.com/crappie/-memb...-crappie-jigs/
Grousefly custom jigheads : the two I use are top row center (brush) and the one to the right of it (Y-guard)
Weedless jigs I use only for casting !! Open hook jigheads of various makes/models are used for all "trolling" methods (pushing, longline, spider rigging)
Crappie Chatt, drifter106 LIKED above post
Two inch wht/cht tube jig 1/4 oz heard, Mostly I vertical jig.
Slab busters in pink with pearl tail or anything chartreuse.
