    Default Keeping keepers...

So, got a question for you guys. I get to fish for an hour or two before work, and often will have one or two keepers. Trouble is, I don't usually have enough time to clean them before work, so I let them go. Is there something a guy could do to keep 'em and clean them later? I don't know, like put them on ice or something and clean them when I get home from work?? Any thoughts would be great.

My father-in-law uses a small water trough with a minnow aerator.

Ooh - great idea! Or maybe a 5 gallon bucket and an aquarium pump - I think I have one of those. Lol

Throw them on ice and clean em later, keeps the fresh for a long time.

Gut em, bag em, ice em. I use blue ice every fishing trip - have different sizes and stay froze all day, works for me.

Woah, really? Maybe I'll stick with just icing them down then.

I think I will - ice seems like the way to go.

I am curious what the legal difference is between a live well on a boat and a home made live well that isn't on a boat. Why is one illegal and the other not? I'm only talking about keeping them for 8 hours or so, until I get off work.

I fish often before work .i picked up a decent looking igloo cooler at a yard sale for 3 bucks that's all I use it for
is to take to put fish in cause I don't have time to clean them before work.also instead of spending 2 bucks for ice I freeze milk jugs or 2 liter bottles so you can rinse em off and re use them for several trips but only fill them 3/4 full or they will freeze and bust.
