6:30 Friday morning I hit the sailboat cove, slips, trees, caught 1 smallmouth and that was it. Had a couple thumps in the trees and white perch nibbles trolling. Will try again.
Fished main lake from 5;30 to 8;30. Got some dinks and a few keepers , couple wipes and some smb's fish holding at 8 feet over brush 11 to 18 feet deep by blowout dam. water stained and 86 degrees . it was tough probably should have fished timber on the upper end. met some me friends and had some fun

Now that I see your picture with the little dog, I realized I was talking to the Dr and didn't know it at the time. I was the guy in the blue and white boat jigging the trees when you came out. We talked for a bit and I moved on. Question for you, have you ever tried minnows in those trees? I always just jig but as slow as it was I got to wondering if minnows would be better. I went to trolling and got 4 or 5 wipers, nothing big and 1 short walleye.
I usually use jigs but sometimes in the fall and winter I will get some minnows because they keep better when cold - the bait guy here in Wichita if I pay for 2 dozen he gives me 60 or 70 minnows. I use nightcrawlers alot because all species love them, I needed some Friday.
