    Default El Dorado Lake 12-3-15

Went out on El Dorado on Thursday with Craig as I no longer own a boat... Great day to be on the water with nice weather. No walleye wanted to play so we went after crappie. Found them in 14-18 FOW and had a great time. Ended up taking 19 out of the lake for the table. The crappie are moving to their winter homes...

Hope to get out soon if someone wants to take me....

New boat should be in soon.. 216 Triton with Mercury 350 Verado.. That should get it done..

Here's a few pics from the 12-3 El Dorado trip.

Started the morning out with some very glassy conditions. Not bad for a December outing.

Within the first 5 minutes, Shane hooked this 20.5 in smallie that gave him a good run. He let me hold it for the camera!

Was on the water much of the day and then we were treated to this scene as we were headed to the ramp!

Kept a mess for the skillet which was a very nice bonus to the day and will contribute nicely to the Kansas "surf (crappie) & turf (venison)" meal coming in the very near future!

Does El Dorado still have a good smallmouth population. Many years ago, when the lake first opened for fishing, I used to fish El Dorado almost every weekend with my dad. The fishing for smallies and walleyes was incredible. No big fish, but there were lots and lots of small ones, and we had a ball there.

El Dorado seems to have a good smallmouth population. I catch 3 pounders and under. The rock quarry is a good spot.

Was able to sneak out again during the afternoon of December 9. Shane was "busy" and I couldn't coax him in to the boat for this trip.

Crappie were holding in similar areas as the trip before and they were really THUMPING the jigs! Didn't keep track of total fish caught, but threw a lot fish back. Sixteen were kept for the skillet.

Was a great short trip, especially for December 9.
