Nothing good to report, but not much from Perry lately, so here it is. Been a few months since I've been at Perry, so I wanted to get a look-see. Put in at 7 and off at 11:30, stayed in Slough Bridge area. Lake was 3'-4' high, 80* degrees, and clarity was dirty at best (3"-5"). Caught endless numbers of dinks fishing brush piles, channel ledges, breaklines, and bridge pilings anywhere from 15' to 28'. I was all over the place (lost), searching for quality fish. Could not get away from the little guys, and only managed to scratch out 5 keepers. But it was nice to get my 'thump' fix. Well, there you have it guys.

I went out there Sunday evening to find the same. Gobs of shorts but only a few good keepers. They were eating on the schools of shad on the flats. Next Sunday I'm gonna try another spot to see if there are any bigger fish.

Well it looks like I'll actually going to be able to go tomorrow. Ill let y'all know how it goes
I went to perry Wednesday and caught some shorts but not many. No keepers.
Yea the big fish are sure hard to come by right now. I found a few 14 inchers sunday morning trolling cranks on the channel mid lake. The bite was slow but it seemed like we picked up better quality fish with the cranks as opposed to pushing jigs and minnows.
Pulled some cranks also one crappie and one sauger. Been really tough this year.
I've been fishing the shad. I look around in the areas I want to fish with my side imaging to see if there's anything going on. If there's no bait fish I just keep going until I find some. It's been working pretty good for me.
Small shad schools everywhere. I'll just have to try and try again. Maybe some of them minners would help or maybe dynamite :-)
