    Default Hillsdale

    Hey all,

New to the forum, and hoping for a little advice. I know conditions aren't the best, but I am going to take my son on a run down to Hillsdale for crappie. We typically fish Perry, but aren't getting many keepers. I don't have a boat, does anyone have some suggestions on a couple of good places to fish from the bank. It has been awhile since i have been there, and I have only fished from a boat. Thanks in advance!!

Saw a lot of fish being caught at HD Point ramp last night before the rain. Marysville and Antioch ramp areas both have rocks by deep water, typically decent right now.

Working on a different bite, we caught quite a few real thin crappie in 21 to 31 fow yesterday on white bandits. More keepers the shorts.

Sorry. Not good info. Lake came up over a foot overnight. Rock levy at HD point is underwater today. Very muddy in the coves. Looks like a tough shallow bite right now. Should be better in a couple days.

No, i am sure you could not have known it was going to be like that. Yes, it was rough out there, and i could tell that the water was way up. We didn't have much luck but we finally we able to fish a little on the North side of Tontzville Road. Thank you very much for the information, it gave us a few spots to try. We were able to catch a few small ones, and had a good time, so thanks again!

If you can find the russell crites campground on a map, there's a boat ramp there. Don't fish from the ramp, cast all around the point to the left of the ramp. A slip bobber rig with minnows or worms works around there. The lake is rising right now.

Thanks. Yes, i do know where that is at now. I will be sure and give it a try. Going to try and get back down there later in the week, hopefully the water will have dropped some by then. Appreciate the info!

They just started to release at about 1145, they're releasing 500 cfm, the spill way should be pretty active.

Bite was really hot tonight. Blacks and Whites, WB, Eyes and a few small flathead. All came from 8.5 to 10fow. White and Chartreuse was working best.
