Lots of black crappie today. Few whites

Couple bonus white bass. Very fun on light line and ultra light poles

Did you catch any wipers? They have been really biting recently.

I didn't catch any wipers. I always check the tongue because I don't want to keep an undersized wiper and get a ticket.

Springhill, on the crappie, most of them are black crappie. They seem to lose their color after sitting in the bucket. I think there were maybe 2 white crappie but there weren't many. Tuesday the bigger whites were around, then today they were smaller.

Maybe the spawn is slowing down already. Females came in to lay their eggs and now the males are coming in.

Oh yea, Tuesday I was catching most of my fish casting further out. Maybe 15-20 yards out. Wednesday most of my crappie bites were maybe only 10-15 feet out in very shallow water.

Do you mean males? Or the species of black crappie. Most of those look like white crappie. Males get real black this time of year. Blacks are a real pretty fish, more spotted, while the white crappies have the vertical lines. Aint disputing anything, just wandering. Good fishing to ya. Very nice catch by the way.

Well. These guys were really black also. You can see it on the gills. I'm not an expert but they were really black all over. Like someone dipped them in used diesel oil dark.
