    Default Glen Elder

I went up to Glen Elder to take my boat to the Lund dealer for the pre season tune up. The wind was kicking and I only saw one brave soul out on the water waves were about
four foot white caps. I don't know if this is standard or not but I wanted to let everyone know the fish cleaning station is not open. I talked to the bait shops it looks like the Walleyes are spawning but no Crappies were being brought in yet. I hope this helps someone. I am sure in another month the live wells will be getting filled out there.

Most of the time due to people trying to grind catfish heads. If you dont know already this will shut em down was told at milford that people should clean there catfish and dispose at a place where the racoons can take advantage.

If the park doesn't provide a barrel for the catfish heads they will end up in the grinder or the dumpster. I've seen people cleaning fish on the picknick tables in the Campground when the grinder was broken. If someone is camping for several days what are they supposed to do with their fish? Maybe the state should hire a private contractor to manage the fish cleaning station or just not allow any catfish cleaning. I take my fish home to clean but not everyone can do that. It's a STINKING mess around the park when the grinder is down.

Yah I know what you mean I dont generally keep catfish but if I do they are almost always cleaned at home. I don't thing Glen's station gets as much attention as alllot of lakes do. Milford has several and they are all almost always up and running. There is also a few hand pump stations that are on the docks that I kind of think work pretty good. As far as people dumping it close to the camping area that just comes down to the common sense of the individual.

I have found the one at west rolling hills jammed up several times with catfish remains pisses me off someone is that thoughtless and try's to wedge something so big down the grinder. And I'm one of the cat-fisherman.

Sebiluse lake at Norton has a station that will grind cat heads, large cars, just about anything and not blink and eye, Maybe Fish and game can install a five horse grinder that will handle every thing. Of course then they would have to raise the fees to accommodate the extra expense since they are not getting so much more money from the 65 plus folks. Just saying.

What about taking the catfish remains back out in a bucket to deep water and dumping? This makes common sense....but common sense is not always common.
