El Dorado Marina ramp and Sail Boat ramp are the only two I would use now. Lake 4' low. Watch for the trees that are just under the surface... Keep your lifejackets on please and call someone to let them know when your going and when your off the lake.. Happy Holidays and safe boating...

Very good idea. I admit I do not wear my life vest in warm weather but when the weather turns I wear it.

Cold Water Immersion survival has 4 stages

Cold Shock - when you go in. If you are in poor health.......
Incapacitation - long before you get hypothermic you will loose the fine motor and grasp ability. This will happen far quicker than you think. You have to be able to get out of the water. If you can not pull yourself into the boat quickly you better be able to make to shore. Wet and cold on land has a greater % of survival than cold and in the water. Every second you are in the water matters.
Hypothermia- Better hope someone finds you. If you did not have your life vest on you did not make to this stage so your worries are over. This is where good clothing matters and no bs can save your life if someone finds you in time.....so go cheap if you want but....
Circumrescue Collapse - you are unconscious and even if rescued you may die any way because of a whole host of issues

People knowing where you are going is a must but it just lets them recover your body quicker. Have a plan to survive. Do not fish alone. Put a whistle on your vest, not a cheap one either but a real one. Don't go in the water to begin with.
If ice fishing tie 2 large nails to each side of your jacket because this is how how you are going to pull yourself out if you go through the ice. My years living and working in remote Alaska taught me the most important lesson, Use good sense....

But as always....do as you see fit

I hope you all get some good ice fishing in this winter. I am sure since I am deployed this will be an awesome year for Ice fishing. Good luck and watch the ice.

Got the word this morn there were several fishing thru the ice at Glen on the river forks. Don't know the thickness of the ice though.

Hey Ksyotecallr if you hear any more info on the ice at glen as in ice thickness, or people catching anything would you mind posting that as well in the next few days? We were thinking about making a trip to Glen or Wilson this weekend and did not want to drive all that way if ice wasn't very thick. Also has anyone heard of ice thickness around horseshoe bend at wilson? i'm sure its safe and if there isn't any replies i will post back this weekend noting what we've found! Any and all information would be appreciated! Have some folks driving 3+ hours to sit on the ice and wanted to be reassured 1. it was safe and 2. at least somethings coming out of them holes Thanks for your help guys!
