Try 6-8 fow or deeper
Yesterday I ventured out to Dry Creek to explore a new area for me. There doesn't appear to be a descent creek channel so I worked the standing timber on the left bank, going up the cove. Tried 3'to 5' water with minnows, only caught a 6-7 pound channel cat and lost 1 slab in the brush.
I went in to 2 1/2 FOW but did not feel good enough to try my luck any shallower.
Has anyone fish this area before? Any suggestions on the best area to fish Dry Creek?
Thanks, Captain Dan
Try 6-8 fow or deeper
Dan,
Our fish on Saturday came out of 3-9 fow in Rock Creek. Timber, Timber, and did I say Timber??? Big wasshoppah baits were the key..
I have caught some big fish out of there in the summer. Spring can be good too around that area. Check the trees out closer to the middle of that cover once the spawn is over. Tend to do better out there on the narly stuff compared to just the pole timber.
Thanks Shane, how far did you go up Rock CREEK? We started off there Saturday about 100 yards past the no ski bouys in 3-8 FOW no luck there.
did you fish the trees with pink and blue ribbons?
Crappie Commander, did you put all those ribbons on the trees? Huge fish on them!
