Default Dry Creek at Clinton Lake

Yesterday I ventured out to Dry Creek to explore a new area for me. There doesn't appear to be a descent creek channel so I worked the standing timber on the left bank, going up the cove. Tried 3'to 5' water with minnows, only caught a 6-7 pound channel cat and lost 1 slab in the brush.
I went in to 2 1/2 FOW but did not feel good enough to try my luck any shallower.
Has anyone fish this area before? Any suggestions on the best area to fish Dry Creek?
    Thanks, Captain Dan

I have caught some big fish out of there in the summer. Spring can be good too around that area. Check the trees out closer to the middle of that cover once the spawn is over. Tend to do better out there on the narly stuff compared to just the pole timber.

Crappie Commander, did you put all those ribbons on the trees? Huge fish on them!

Sadly I can't take credit for the ribbons since jighound apparently put them on. But there are giant fish on them that's for sure.
