    Default Manhattan fishing

I am going to be visiting some family that lives in manhattan The end of next week and was wondering if there is anywhere to fish around there? I won't have the privlidge of taking the boat this time, so that's out of the question. I assume the crappie are either staging or possibly may be spawning next week. Any info would be helpful.

If you go out to Tuttle Creek Res, hit up Marina Cove. Lots of fish in there usually. On the banks up behind the docks or the rip rap over by the ramp. Further in that cove with the rip rap there is brush galore out in the middle of the cove so you have shallow and deeper water within casting distance.

    That's outstanding advice!Thumbs Up

Don't forget about the outlet, Rocky Ford, and the river pond too. These are all areas downstream of the Tuttle Creek dam. You could try Rocky Ford on your way to the outlet or marina cove. If I didn't have a boat and wanted to catch a fish in Manhattan, Rocky Ford is the first place I would check. If you look up Tuttle Creek on the KDWP website, you should be able to find a map that shows all these areas.

If you're strictly crappie fishing, you will probably have the best luck at the marina cove or possibly the outlet. If you are not averse to catching white bass, saugeye, gar, buffalo, or even a paddlefish along with your crappie, I would hit up Rocky Ford first. Good luck to you.
I am just pullin' your leg.:D

x2 on the rocky ford and river pond. I lived in manhattan for about 10 years and the river pond was the go to spot for fishing. No matter what you were gonna walk outa there with atleast one fish. If you go to the river pond check out around the dam on the east side and that walk way if its not under water. I did real well around there. If you need good bait hit up Derricks bait and tackle. They are real good people and they will help ya out on whats biting, where their biting and what they're biting on.
