Went with Ron to see if any hybrid action could be found. We did find some but they sure weren't as aggressive as they were last year when we last got into them. On Ron's first hook up he let his fish swim into my line so as to momentarily give me a thrill of thinking we've got a double going. The double rig jigs on the braid wrapped and knotted on his line where he couldn't reel in anymore. By the time I got my jigs snipped off of his lines without getting myself hooked from the surging hooked fish the fish got off before he ever got it to the surface to view. Probably a 35" to 38" behemoth from the way Ron was unable to subdue it.

After that Ron shifted into high gear keeping me in the 'out of fish mode' which I always expect and usually experience while on his boat. He did keep me busy netting the fish for him as he caught five or six more fish before he slipped up by letting me catch a 21 incher. Maybe one of these days I'll learn how to catch fish on his boat.

We sure had a great start to the day knowing the wind was going to be picking up after which we were planning on leaving the water.

Here was the sunrise yesterday morning. Almost the highlight of my day.

Guys those wipers sure can put a bend in your rod, had to use both hands to hold onto the rod. They like big baits, felt sorry for the old man Lee and gave him a bait for he could catch fish. It was not fast and furious bite, but once they hit it was worth the effort. All fish were released for another day. Looking for 24" or bigger.
