dkv, hope to get some time later today to get it posted on gonefishing.orbs.com. The weights were much better than a week ago for most, still tough catching numbers though.

The Kansas Crappie Trail held its end of the season 2 day Classic on Nov. 3rd & 4th. The conditions for the tournament were pretty good for early November in Kansas with day one being a little on the windy side and day 2 being ideal for fishing. Most teams found day one to be tough to find a consistant bite especially for fish with any size but on day two most teams were consistantly boating better fish than on the first day.

Cogratulations to Ryan & Howard German of Louisburg, KS they had a very eventful tournament and in the end they perservered with 2 very consistant days of fishing. On day one the team only weighed in 6 crappie but those 6 averaged over 1.25 pounds and they were sitting in 2nd place after day one. However they had bumped a stump pretty hard on their way in to the weigh-in on day one and were not sure if it had damage their motor or not but they found out on day 2 that damage had been done as they went to take off on day 2 they discovered that their forward gear was gone from their big motor and they had some distance to travel to get to the honey hole. But as good sportsman do the teams on the trail picked the team up and got them to their fishing grounds and back in safely. As day 2 wore on for the team they found that their fish from day 1 had left or were not in the mood so they traveled by trolling motor to another location and when they got there one of the other tournament teams was already on the location they wanted to fish, that team was not in contention so they let them have the spot and left and it turned out to be a just what team German needed as they caught their 7 keepers, all from that location and had an impressive 8.39 lb. on day 2 for a 2 day total of 16.46 lbs.. The team said they used 1/4 jigs on both days and the only color they caught fish on was black/yellow Bobby Garland Slab Slayer and brown/yellow Bobby Garland Minnow Minder. The team fished timber from 6 to 8 ft. deep The team earned $921.00 for their 2 day effort, congratulations gentlemen a job well done under adverse conditions.

The second place team was Eric & Mike Schrock another father & son team from Lawrence, KS they had a slim lead after day one with 8.20 lbs. The team had some worries that their area was not holding enough good fish. Their worries came true as day 2 was not as good as day one for them although the weight on day 2 was not like day one it was stil very respectable on a lake that was not giving up its hogs easily, the team came in with 7.71 on day 2 and fell to second place with a 2 day total of 15.91 lbs. The team also caught the big crappie of the tournament on day one with a 1.87 lb. crappie. The team said that they caught their fish in 6 to 8 foot of water in the timber on red/chartruess, black /chartruess 1/4 oz. Turd Tail Jigs and their big fish came on a green/chartruess Top Secret Bait Co. jig The team earned $496.00 for their work and added another $100.00 to that total for the big crappie. Nice work guys.

The Kansas Crappie Trail would like to thank all the members and non members who fished our tournaments this year, it was nice meeting everyone who participated and came to the weigh-ins to root for your favorite team and to Mike and Jenna Ross for their help at the weigh-in at Clinton this weekend. We also want to thank Rob Hollingsworth of Gone Fishing Jig Co. & Brandon Manis of Top Secret Bait Co. for their support through out the year and their donations of prizes to hand out at the weigh-ins. Thank You
