If you contact KDWP-T, just have to distance the tourism part, they might help you find some programs or sponsorship if you include the younger generation. 1-2 of your nights might just pan out this way. One things for sure, in the eyes of a youngster you'll look like a professional TV angler. The KWA used a non-boater format years ago and required 2/3's of expenses be paid by the non-boater. As many of you know thats a deal. I wish you all the best in your endeavors.

I think this is a good idea. I am in a bass club. We have boaters and non boaters. I wouldn't call it pro's and amateurs/juniors, bc some really good fisherman don't have boats.

We have a meeting each month and draw partners. We set a non boater fee to help with gas, but that fee also includes us riding to the lake with them and at most lakes within an hour drive its $25-35. The boater is in charge of where to fish etc but can get advice from the non boater. But the non boater shouldn't expect to get to choose where or how to fish.

I think you could get a lot more people out doing a draw. Many boaters don't have a partner willing to commit and obviously non boaters don't. It would be a little different with your weekly tourneys as you would probably pick right before take off. May be times where you have a ton of extra non boaters which you would hate to send away if they came to fish or too many boaters. But if you went the 1x a month on a weekend you could easily pull it off.

I'm out on the non boater idea I have put to much time into finding spots that hold good fish to reveal them to strangers. Others might like the idea but if thats the direction you go with this I'm out sorry thats just the way I feel about it. I know obviously they dont have a boat but they might have a buddy that does and next thing you know they are fishing out your spots. anyone that really puts time into prefishing knows that its not easy finding good spots that hold big fish and even harder keeping them a secret. I say lay down some rules set a limit post it and put a poll on it see what you get. If it dont look like people are gonna come fish change it until you get the results you are looking for. I say set the limit at 4 to start with. You still have plenty of time dont pull the plug yet. Oh and be nice to your potential customers or you wont get any I see what you mean about people not responding to threads if you look on the mo. page they use up a whole page every day kinda sad considering kansas can keep a whole page for a month sometimes.

Come on Wantbe share your ideas?

All good ideas, what does everyone think about a running points race through the eight tournys? Could be a prize for most points based on overall performance? Could take best 5 tourneys since not everyone will be able to fish them all. (jiggin15 on MO board gave me this idea)

I agree with you tree dipper a lot of guys are not willing to share their spots without knowing the person. Like chad said the draw for partners is more set up for a once a month deal. These are more frequent and less formal.

Anybody feel like the cost makes people not fish them? Is $40/team to much or too little? Its not about the money to me, I like the competition.

    Welcome aboard tree dipper,

Americas favorite family fun fishing network has something for all. You sound like an experienced, seasoned angler and we look forward to your posts. This is the right place, theres guys here who can catch fish out of a 5 gallon bucket and fill another doing it.

I think $40 sounds fair and maybe only take points from the 4 best tournaments most people should be able to make half of them.

4 would probably work, but that could lead to more potential ties and be difficult to sort out.

Similar to many point systems, you could issue 100 points for 1st, 99 2nd, 98 3rd and so on all the way down the line. That way everyone gets some points and it will pay for best overall performances. Only real kicker is people that fish with different partners. Could be individual points? So each fisherman recieves the points.....

Keep it coming we are getting somewhere here.

There has also been talk of one weekend tournament (Saturday) that you must have a youth partner. Could allow bank and dock fishing. Maybe $50 team fee or $50 donation of food/ clothes/etc. To local charity. If you don't have a youth, we could contact boys/girls club and line something out to find one.

    Feel free to throw in.....
