Thats an awesome trip. We were just talking about going to Lake Oahe in a few couple of weeks if we dont get ice here. That's the only lake we've been to in South Dakota. Only problem is it wont be first ice but it would be a much needed trip to get out of town. Thanks for sharing.

Yep, nothing better than sitting on a frozen lake when it's 40 degress outside, no wind, catching fish. Throw in an awesome sunset on the ice while watching thousands upon thousands upon thousands of honkers and mallards going out to feed. That's South Dakota.
It was a fun weekend, although the bud light and karaoke Saturday night left me a little under the weather Sunday...lol.
Super clear water and no snow cover make the fish just plain tough.
