Yeah. I pour my own bass jigs, and for what I get these for down there, I don't even bother trying to pour my own crappie jigs.

Yea know BPS, Cabelas, and others are selling those Chinese made jigs pretty darn cheap, some of them aren't to bad of quality either. But thats as far as it should go, find some local made or at least "Made in the USA". I make and sell em, but the shipping would be prohibitive. Support us "locals", at least we'll keep the debt here where it belongs. Honestly a good topic!

Ditto that for the little guy's, I sold 100 ct. jigheads in the 90's for 6.00 a hundred, agreed dont know how he does it unless he's a 501c nonprofit buiss. I wish everyone would keep the money here. Look at Ardent Reels, they said it cant be done....they did it! We make our rods here in Oklahoma, and have carved out a nice market. If jobs are going to sustain this country they must come back here. Every dollar spent here goes around at least 6 times, spent overseas once and gone! I like to control the quality and thats hard to do sending it over there.

    I couldn't agree more!!

But there is some good news- The Chinese gov't has now prohibited the export of leadhead jigs to the US. It appears that they are saving all their lead to add to the paint they use on toys!

All joking aside, buy American made goods if you have a choice and the quality is reasonable. I would rather pay more and get something made in this country than buy something made overseas. And that goes for whether it is made in Asia, Europe, or California!

Thanks for the info guys, I just orded some from a local guy on here. I work with a lot of small business owners so I try to shop local or small store when ever possible. I don't shop at Walmart unless I have to (I think I have been there 5 times in the last 4 years). I really don't mind spending a few extra dollars on my passion. Many guys just have to save a buck no mater what which is is fine but I personly don't mind spend money on something that is quality and helps someone out. Just like a little extra in a tip for a single mom that's wait a table at dinner.

On a off topic side note, this made me think of a really cool story. I have a friend that part of their family vacation is to find someone worthy and tip them $100 somewhere along their way. It's the kids decision but the stories they tell about bring me to tears, lots of single moms and people working long past they should of retired and it's amazing what that simple act of kindness does. They are not a family of means but that is the way he was raised and wants his kids to be the same. I don't mind spending a little extra for a good cause.
It's not duck season so I have to do something... :D
