Chatt and I fished Riss lake today with Brent Frazee. The lake has some nice Black Crappies and we thought we could put together a pattern and catch em.
Well we tore up the LM's caught some Gills and a couple trout. Had some cute little Crappies...like those that would be good in an aquarium.
Could not find the key to the keepers but Chatt is rarin to try again with the new Lowrance side scan technology.
It's a challenge and you can bet the Chattster is going to burn some midnight oil working on this one.
    1st quarter...Crappies are ahead....but the game ain't over.
No mister nice guy when we go back...this is war!!!
BTW, if anyone has any extra C-4, Chatt might be a buyer.

I don't think there is a rod limit on that lake...Chatt's boat will look like a boat out of southern waters with 50 rods spider rigging.

Just got a call from Brent this afternoon. He found the Crappies at Riss lake on Saturday. Now this is really war....Chatt and I need a rematch. At least we know there are some decent fish there. Riss lake is at the top of the hit list.

I have friends that bass fish the lake, do not think crappie is on their hit list. Thought many times its is a nice lake, maybe someday I will have a invitation to wet a line there. Probally be bass fishing.

Mom lives on Riss lake, shes selling the house if anyone's interested, hasn't had a boat slip for almost 10 years. Haven't fished it in a couple of years, was thinking it was overpopluated for a bunch of years now. Recently been getting a pretty hard alge bloom up there in the summer, figureing from all the lawn fertilizer. Didn't know they were putting trout in there. Got a heck of a deer problem up there. Used to fish there before they started building the houses. Trolling motor only rule, makes it a little tough.
Used to live on Waukomis up there myself. Haven't fished it in a while, but it used to be a heck of a fishery, good crappie, and walleye, and they stocked the snot out of it with the trout and you can use gas motors with a HP restriction.
