I've never used worms for crappie fishing but have caught crappie while dragging worms and spinners around for walleye. I have thought about putting a worm on the bottom jig while mainly fishing for crappie in hopes the worm would more readily entice a walleye.

Is this something I should be adding to my crappie fishing repertoire?

Has the ol Chattester ever used worms while crappie fishing?

Anyhow just the first time I've ever noticed worms being mentioned for crappie in his reports.

grew up in the kck area there is a lake that used to have a dairy farm up above it water off of the feedlot would run into the lake walking around the shoreline after a heavy rain worms would be crawlling all over put worm on with split shot or slip sinker catch all the crappie you wanted to drag back to the road long time ago

Heh! Heh! Heh! Ya, I have pinched of pieces of worms and used them before nibbles came out. I still have a few Berkly Trout worms in the tackle box. Just hook them ona jig like a trailer bait or ona bare hook with a split shot. Slowly lower down by trees :D(AGAIN???). <*)}}}><

I like the Berkley Nibbles just fine. However, as you well know, they are designed to last on only one fish/hit. I have been experimenting with something different and am very satisfied with the results.

If you purchase the Berkley Nightcrawlers (not worms), the crawlers are much fatter, cut them into "nibbles" size and impale them as you would a Nibble. The texture of the nightcrawlers allows you to use them on multiple fish and the scent is powerful. As far as I can deterine, I think the "attractor dressing" of the Berkley Nightcrawler is as good as the Nibbles. The bonus is that you can get a longer life out of the Nightcrawlers.
