I heard last week they were hitting the surface like crazy...from a reliable source...they were also catching walleye on cranks and the wipers on swim baits.
FAITH, FAMILY, FRIENDS & FISHING...... hopefully in that order but honestly, not always!

Tried to get serious on the wipers and eyes after dark last night. Got on the water about 930pm. Bit storm lots of lighting just north of Lawrence. Found great fish in two places. In the pocket behind the island where the channel bows and in the slit on the left side of the dam at the mouth of the cove in 16 to 25. Fish were totally stacked like Christmas trees. Couldnt buy a bite. Left at midnight. Another 80 bucks or so of lures in Clinton lake. Cabelas is again out of the big Tennessee Chrome Shad rattletraps that seem to be the hot color this year. Clintons been pretty good to me this year. But two trips this week really sucked.

Saw the Wipers get on the surface last night for bout 90 seconds. Birds were waiting. Bout a 60 yard area, just before sunset. Took a 26.5" out.

Was there Monday and wipers were surfacing sporadically and would not stay up long 15 to 30 seconds all around the island (no secret there lol) Got 4 wipers all over 20 in and several whites. Earlier in the afternoon scrounged up half a dozen whites on live shad and slab spoons.

I have been out most of the week and its been pretty tough bite on the wipers. They do not seem to be in very large schools and the topwater bite has been very short as the posts has said. Been finding large schools of catfish though so thats been fun.

might want to check your spot. We been then killing them out there all week and another good night tonight be out there tomorrow. if you see a boat out front running double down riggers on the back you might want to check the area. the fishing is very very good
