I buy the 6 BB reels from china for about $8 ea and a rods from walmart. The each hold up for about 2-3 years on the reels and rods last longer......depending. I use all different rods lengths depending on where I am at and each has a place. When I catch good rods on a really Good sale I get a few but I keep going back to the wally world ones.....

Buy what you want ......but the fish don't know

Thank you, KAG. I will check the reels out. I am trying to avoid more rods in the old nito though; I usually carry at least 10 so I am only going to buy 1 for crappie casting. What rod do you use most? Length, action , fast tip ect ???
Now a days when I buy it is a bucket list thing; the last I will ever buy that is. Fishing is all I do, other than work so...
    No need to overspend though.

Check out the sale on high standard rods at highstandardrods.com. Carbon fiber on sale under 30 dollars. I know ranger fishes them on his guide service boat in 6' lengths. I tried two 5' 6' spinning rods and got two 7.5'MH for cat rods. Service was great, and rods are really quality stuff.

I like shimano reels. Have one that is going on 12 years like a champ. It's on a 6ft cabelas brand rod I bought on sale. As I break the other ones I will transition them all to those Cabelas rods

x2 on the Pfleuger President reels then I would go to the Shimanos, 7-8ft. Duck commander double touch rod and I like P-line flurocarbon 6# test....of course I fish with various combinations and actually prefer braid most of the time.
FAITH, FAMILY, FRIENDS & FISHING...... hopefully in that order but honestly, not always!
