    Default Moon Lake 4-03-15

Heard the trout were biting on half a nightcrawler at Moon Lake on Fort Riley. Couldn't find them, so we reverted to the old standby and fished for channel cats. Slow, but fun day with my girl. She's growing up...when she'd start reeling one in, I'd get up to go take it off as usual. Today she said (as I grabbed her fish as it came out of the water) "Uh daddy, can I try the pliers this time?" "Sure baby (started my teaching/lecturing voice), what you want to do is get the hook right here and turn it....(she twisted once, hook right out)...nevermind, you've got it." Brad

    Default Moon Lake Again 04-06-15

Headed to Moon Lake again. Really wanted to take her on Milford, but winds too high to have much fun, so we looked for trout again...and found them! 3 species day with trout, crappie, and bluegill shallow. On tiny white jigs with very small dark bodies grubs or a little pinch of nightcrawlers. Brad
