Awesome Joe those fish up there look healthy also. I bet those salmon are delish!
I fished yesterday 11-8-14 at a lake in Northern Colorado that I hadn't fished before and did pretty good!
On the way to the boat ramp I was welcomed by these girls!
I was solo when I got there so I had to take a pic of the Rockies for my wife to enjoy...
The lake is a "no wake" lake so I trolled around for a bit looking for the fish, didn't mark any large groups but I did mark 2 steep breaks that might be good later ice fishing... Had to turn the boat when I got closer to the West end as there were duck hunters with decoys out. As I was cutting across the basin I marked several fish so I tossed out the marker buoy and reeled in the crankbaits! I broke out the "Christmas Tree" that Crappiedoc told me about a couple of years ago and dropped it down just above the marks, in less then a minute I felt that familiar "Thump" and for just a second or two I thought I was back home in Kansas!!
I texted a couple of my buddies Brian and Anthony and they came up and joined the fun! They usually school on fishing in Colorado but today I put on a clinic!!
Ending up catching a bunch of crappie and a ton of whitebass!!
This morning Brian and I hit the mountains for some Kokanee salmon fishing and it lasted all of 30 minutes before we had our limits of 10 salmon each!!
