With all the people that go from lake to lake without cleaning their boat, I knew it was only a matter of time before they found zebra mussels in Pomona.

It is only a matter of time before they are in every lake in the state.

And that is unfortunate because it does not have to happen. If everyone would take the proper precautions the spread of ANS would cease.

I am still not convinced they can't be spread by wildlife.

The clean/dry program just didn't work. I personally know a guy who went from Coffee County one day to Hillsdale the next. I asked him about draining and flushing his boat, motor, and trailer and he looked at me like I was crazy. It would of required a guard houses and boat testing to keep them out. Now we just have to learn to deal with them.

I know Colorado does I have been inspected at two lakes there. Not hard a bottle of diluted Clorox mixture sprayed in livewell and bilge let motor down to drain water out. Trailer is another story as there is not way to get into all the water holding places. So some thought should be given going from an infected body to one that is not on the same day

Wabaunsee county was guarded and did boat inspections. They even bleached every boat and they still got them. Whats that say?

Let's see if they show up in farm ponds? That will tell the story of what creatures move them!

As for as all the boat able lakes? IMHO, it's just a matter of time.
