With the exception of shad being everywhere my wife and I experienced the opposite of your report yesterday from about 1 til 830 pm yesterday...was pretty slow from 1 to 5 with only 3 wipers and a couple white bass but after five it took off and we had a great day on wipers and whites fishing live shad (the shad we netted and held in the filtered aerated shad tank were 2 to 4 inches long) on down lines and topwater and twisters when they surfaced and they surfaced a lot from 5 to 8. I saw very few smallish half inch shad that you describe...we must have fished different areas? I will post a report with some pics later today when I get a chance. You guys that live close have a very nice wiper fishery it seems!Name: IMG_0240.jpg

Yeah I think we gave up too early and left before they started surfacing. We say a few come up but they didnt stay up very long. Glad you had a good day.

I dont know the lake that well sadly. Usually when I go it's later in the day and we fish along the dam only. Not much time for exploring other areas.

Went last evening and very few fish were surfacing and the action was very short. Caught 1 wiper and 3 white bass.
