    Default 5/31 Milford

    Fished from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. We were targeting walleye. Caught around 40 most were 14" to 17". We ended up with 4 from 18.25" to 18.5" and a 26" and 2 big crappie. We were fishing slow death and spinner rigs in 6' to 14' of water. We also caught several whites/wipers and a few small channels. It seems like every lake I go to this year whether it's Cheney, Coffey County and now Milford I end up catching pretty good numbers of walleye but they all are just short of the legal limit. I'm still waiting to get into some big boys. Oh well it's still fun!

    I'm glad to hear you were catching shorts. I fished all day 6/1 and only caught 1 short, 17-1/2". We caught a few good keepers, but it was a little concerning the lack of shorts given my penchant for finding nothing but shorts. We did end up with a big crappie as well...BIG.

    I have a theory that most walleye get pulled out as soon as they reach the legal limit so you just don't catch many.

    We will see how many big girls are in there next year when the Cabelas National trail comes to Milford next year. Our Kansas guys made a showing in this years championship at Green Bay, We will see if the Kansas boys can school the field of over 200 entrants next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Keep at it Sah. There is still plenty of bigger ones in there. At times Milford can be really frustrating. I haven't caught that many shorts this year... some really nice ones though. If I keep catching shorts....I move on or maybe a little deeper:}

    Saw a lot of walleyes getting caught in 5 to 9fow Sunday. 5 boats working a 200 yard streach at noon along a north south shore appeared to be killing um at noon! Wasn't my fish this weekend. Bite I was fishing was great Saturday and fair Sunday with a stronger wind. But the walleye crowd was tearing um up Sunday. Buddy said we did over 90 > 20" Wipes Sat, I think it was around 80. Fished 7 to noon. Got tired.

    I fished from 6am to 10am last Sunday and caught a 24, 20 and 2 19 inch walleyes and a few shorts. I was trolling a little faster then normal at about 2MPH, trolling motor went down so I had to use the main motor. Bottom boucers and wedding rings on one rod and crank bait on the other early in the morning everything was on the crank bait as the sun rose the crawler harness out fished everything. I hope this might help someone. Lots of great information on here.
