FREAKY!!!
FREAKY!!!
Life is good today.
So THAT was the secret to your success last Sunday!?!?! Well done, nice finish in the KWA Shane.
Could've been worse. My neighbor had a copperhead in his boat one time. He's lucky it didn't bite him. We shared a dock back then. After that day we didn't share a dock anymore. I put my boat on the trailer and learned a new habit. Always check the boat for snakes before launching.

There must be something about boats attracting snakes because I have had several common water snakes on board my pontoon back in a storage compartment by my motor. One was inside a minnow trap dried up, but I did find one coiled up on top of stuff I store in there. After identifying it I just picked it up, which my lady friend did not like me bringing it on the deck. Gosh it was only 3 feet long, but she acted like it was an Anaconda.
Just a note Shane if one got in your boat another probably will too. Put a minnow trap in your boat and you'll be amazed how many end up in them but can not get out. No bait is needed unless you want to put a mouse in it.
I always have water snakes swimming around my pontoon in my slip during the summer. I like to snag one and throw it on the walkway in front of my slip to watch the reaction from walkers by.
Even though I tell them it is not poisonous both men and women think it is a water moccasin and give it a wide berth.
I just tell them it is my pet snake Sam, Sam was swimming by last year with a leopard frog in his mouth , and since leopard frogs are great catfish bait I took it away from Sam, and gave Sam a shot of Makers Mark for bring me the frog. The next weekend Sam brought me 2 leopard frogs, he must like bourbon. HA ha

I like Chatts comment. LOL.
I had a very similar situation to yours. My boat was up on the cable lift, probably 4' above the water, and I started unsnapping the cover. A 6' black snake was RIGHT THERE in my face when I rolled the cover back. He startled and tried to escape into the rod tubes, but he was too big to fit into them, so he was just wriggling right there by the driver's seat. I reached in, grabbed him by the tail and flung him out into the lake.
I was pretty juiced on adrenaline from the surprise of having him pop up right in my face, so I ended up throwing him really, really far. I'm not really scared of snakes, but I definitely prefer to see them before they are close enough to breathe on.
Now I peel back the cover slowly and take a peek in there before I go popping all the snaps off. Haha...
I am just pullin' your leg.:Dspringhillwantabe, shane LIKED above post

I'd walked on water and you could trail me!!!!!!!!
I'm still trying to figure out how Shane was 25 feet away when we were in a 22 foot boat!!
