    Default Lake of the Ozarks

Family is headed down to stay in a rental for the weekend. Gonna be up at the 55mm, away from the craziness.

Taking my boat and was hoping to get some fishing in early, and late while everyone else is sleeping.

Never fished the lake before. Any pointers to help me out?

    Thanks boys

I fish in there alot, in fact I was just there last week. Fish the docks in 20 ft of water around the edge with minnows or small micro jigs tipped with a nibble 10 ft down and look for docks with old fishing boats. Docks with fishing boats will hold more structure. During the day the bite was good in the shade on minnows. Good luck.
It's not duck season so I have to do something... :D

Thank you Springhill. We did alright on the docks but did real good catching lmb busting the bank with crank baits. Caught some real nice fish. Bro in law was using a perch colored crank and he was getting bit real good so I switched to that from the shad color and same started for me also.
Btw, if you ever are getting ready to head to the boat ramp to leave and your motor won't start, always be sure to check your kill switch. Flipping it might save you an hour of trolling up the cove. Saw this morning when I was storing it, that the kill was on kill. Talk about a humbling moment. But at least the motor is good to go.

LOL!! I think most anyone with a boat that has that dang kill switch has had (or will have) one of those moments! I disable them as soon as I get a boat that has them. I dont stand up and dont run the boat unless seated so they are of no use to me other than causing a whole lot of frustration!

Proctor Cove. We trolled the bank the whole way from the main lake up the cove on the side without houses. Did real well with the perch cranks. Good luck m
